No sailing or boating experience is necessary, and the captain and crew are always willing to let those that want to learn more about the nautical world help out during each sail. No wind? No worries… we will motor and enjoy the calm. Complimentary light snacks and water are available, and you are welcome to bring your own soft drinks, beer, wine, and food.
Vessel passenger comforts include a full head (restroom), full galley (kitchen) with a small refrigerator, stove, and basic kitchenware, and a charging station available for customer use. Hunter design has provided a spacious cockpit with plenty of above-deck seating to take in the surroundings and a cozy below-deck featuring a settee, before and aft cabins with standing headroom throughout. Our vessel can accommodate up to six guests on each sailing excursion. GSV offers only private sails - your party will be the only guests aboard the boat.
All excursions begin and end at the Hood River Marina (a 10 min walk) from downtown Hood River, OR. The route will be set by the captain based on the current weather conditions to ensure your scenic sail is enjoyable and safe.
Our sailing season runs from mid-May through mid-September each year.

Our two-hour cruise will allow a comfortable amount of time to get settled in onboard and take in the sights. If we are sailing east, landmarks include the hulking Stanley Rock and the iconic Coyote Wall (basalt anticline). If headed westbound, we’ll sail past the White Salmon River confluence, experience fellow watersports with all their colorful kites, and take in the untouched beauty of Wells Island.
